White roses left in an empty vase
Purity, innocence
Blooming with such vengeance
Growing, reaching for the sky
Stretched until I heard them cry
Now slowly stooping
Bending down
Each petal falls
Slowly, slowly to the ground
Wilted and left
Withered and dead
White roses left on the flower bed.
Oh hey! I wrote sumtin that isn't self-absorbed! And it rhymes too! Cool! :) (Smile) The things fatigue and stress do to you...
This was inspired by me wanting to buy white roses for a friend's b'day. Don't ask how the roses got from the vase to the flower beds. Let's just call it a poetic licence. :P (Razz)

personally... this is my fave poem that i've ever produced. oh, and also... you guys should have a look at the Last Pink Rose by melkior coz its excellent and sort of connects with this poem. as well as Rose Desire by eks.

This invokes a familiar feeling I have when bringing cut flowers home for the vase.

and as they fall the petals turn black with the loss of innocence and then guilt consumes it all and the petals crinkle and die, leaving the thorns of guilt sticking out from the stem and into your palm. Thus does nature treat thee for innocence lost.

Yay! I like this. Never thought of roses with a vengeance before. Good wording! Nice imagery. Beautiful metaphore...

I like it, don't worry about it going from one thing to another to another. I like the way not all of it rhymes, too. Good job. ^.^
